I was born in Czech Republic. Crafts and arts were always an important part of my life. As a little child I already learned the art of bobbin lacemakeing from my grandmother who lived in Doudleby near Vamberk. Lacemaking is connected with Vamberk town so closely that within the town and its vicinity it is difficult to find a family in which at least one member of the family was not making bobbin lace at home. The history of this art is well presented by the collections in The Vamberk Museum .    My obsession in beads started in my early childhood when I spent my school vacation days with my other grandmother in northern part of my country in the region of Jablonec. I used to run over to small bead factory backyard where I would pick discarded beads and used them to design my first pieces of jewelry.    Twelve years ago my family had the opportunity to move to United States. We quit our jobs in Czech Republic and came to pursue the American dream. From beginning I was overwhelmed by the many opportunities to study arts and to learn new crafts. Six years ago I saw an advertisement for lampworking kit and I was hooked. I love the beads and I love making them even more. Very soon I realized Hot Head Bead Making Kit would not be enough so with the help of my family I set up my studio. Around the time I started lampworking we had adopted a new family member – our American Eskimo dog Lady and she became the inspiration for my studio name.    My Eskie beads are being sold internationally through my website. Each of my beads is hand-crafted , no two pieces are ever identical. That is what makes each bead unique and special. I am working with soft glass (Effetre, Vetrofond, Czech glass) and all beads are annealed in digitaly controlled kiln to assure a long lasting work of art. Thank you for visiting my website.
